The Maniatakeion Foundation, in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization in Italy, took the necessary preparatory steps so as to have an article published in the National Geographic concerning Koroni and covering the period 14-21 June 2014, as part of a tribute to the nominated Emblematic Community for the Mediterranean Diet (UNESCO, 16/11/2010).

The Emblematic Community of Cilento (Italy) has organized a meeting among the representatives of the declared Emblematic Communities for the Mediterranean Diet at the FAO headquarters in Rome on March 9, 2015. Mrs. Pelagia Leftaki, vice-mayor of Pylos-Nestoras ans Mrs. Vicky Inglezou, director of the Maniatakeion Foundation, represented the Emblematic Community of Koroni. Enlargement of the Emblematic Communities for the Mediterranean Diet

On Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in Baku (Azerbaijan) the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO has decided to extend the Emblematic Communities for the Mediterranean Diet. The issue of enlargement began when the four countries that initially supported the inclusion of the Mediterranean Diet in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, namely Greece, Spain, Italy and Morocco, decided to include Cyprus, Portugal and Croatia as well.
