The Foundation is governed by a 11-member Board of Directors with for life members, the founders Dimitri Maniataki and Eleni Tagonidi Maniataki.
An Advisory Council contributes in the activities of the Board.
The activities of the Foundation are funded by its endowments, private grants, donations, bequests or legacies to it.
The Board members serve pro bono on matters concerning the activities of the Foundation and the financial management.
The Chairman and Vice Chairwoman are life members, while all other members are elected for a three years term. The Board meets in Athens regularly at the headquarters of the Maniatakeion Foundation or wherever all its members are gathered in March, June, September and December annually and exceptionally upon the request of the Chairman or of any two members of the Board, by written request to the Chairman.
Both members of the Board and members of the Advisory Council offer their services sine stipendiis.

The Advisory Council provides advice on issues raised by the Board, suggests directions and actions that it considers appropriate for the Foundation’s program of activities and priority actions in sections which are considered important.
